Spanish Friends Attended the New Year’s Entertainment Party of Chinese Christians

On February 17, 2018, Christians from The Church of Almighty God in Spain hosted an evening gathering in Madrid’s Fuenlabrada with the theme of “We gather together here.” The purpose of the event was for friends of different nationalities to gain a greater understanding of The Church of Almighty God and to promote friendship between these groups. Unlike the events held the previous two years, that evening over a dozen international friends were invited, including: Cynthia, a representative from the Todo Mejorar Foundation; Elahi, chairman of Valientes Banglas; Manuel, chairman of the European Citizens’ Anti-Corruption Association; Sagrario, manager of the San Lorenzo Center. It was a joyful gathering in celebration of the lunar new year.

The Church of Almighty God Christians Ring in the New Year With French Friends

The Church of Almighty God Christians Ring in the New Year With French Friends

On February 18, 2018, precisely during a traditional Chinese holiday—Spring Festival—Christians from The Church of Almighty God in France held a New Year’s celebration with the theme of “gratitude” in the parish activity center of the Saint-Germain Church in Vitry-sur-Seine, Paris. This was the first local New Year’s event hosted by these Christians since being forced to flee to France after suffering brutal oppression by the Chinese government. They wanted to use this opportunity to extend their thanks to their French friends who had helped them and shown their concern. The event also provided an excellent platform for those in attendance to further understand the truth of the persecution of Christians from The Church of Almighty God by the Chinese government.

Šorytė: If the Persecuted Christians Are Repatriated to Their Homeland, It Is Utterly a Crime!

Šorytė: If the Persecuted Christians Are Repatriated to Their Homeland, It Is Utterly a Crime!

On October 23, 2017, at a meeting on “Religious Freedom and Refugee Human Rights” held in South Korea, Ms. Rosita Šorytė, who had represented the Interim Lithuanian President as Chairman of the EU Working Group on Humanitarian Assistance, stated in her speech, “According to the 2004 Guidelines of the United Nations High Commissioner for Refugees (UNHCR) and the 1987 UN Refugee Convention, for a persecuted religious group, members of The Church of Almighty God (CAG) have clearly been subject to the persecution of torture, a higher severity of iniquity than social persecution, thus more deserving of being granted refugee status.” Šorytė mentioned that the Republic of Korea is a respected democracy that has also signed and ratified the 1951 Refugee Convention and the 1967 Protocol. It should fulfill its responsibilities in accordance with these international documents. If the persecuted Christians of CAG are repatriated to mainland China, it is utterly a crime!

On January 16, 2018, Human Rights Without Frontiers International published an article, urgently calling on EU member states and South Korea to provide political asylum to Christians of The Church of Almighty God. The article said, not one of more than 600 Christians of The Church of Almighty God fleeing to South Korea obtained refugee status and 178 face repatriation.
